- 3 to 4 cups fresh mango flesh, about 4 to 5 ripe mangoes
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup water
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, optional
- 4 to 5 fresh mint leaves, optional, for garnish
Instructions
- Select 4 to 5 ripe mangoes that smell sweet and yield slightly to gentle pressure.
- Wash the mangoes thoroughly under cool running water.
- Cut the mango flesh away from the large central pit with a sharp knife.
- Hold each mango over a bowl while cutting to catch the juices.
- Scoop the mango flesh into a blender or food processor.
- Add ½ cup granulated sugar.
- Add 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice.
- Blend until completely smooth with no visible fruit chunks.
- Pour the mango puree through a fine-mesh strainer into a mixing bowl.
- Press gently to remove any remaining fibers.
- Add 1 cup water to the strained puree.
- Add ½ teaspoon vanilla extract if using.
- Stir until the mixture is completely uniform.
- Pour the mango mixture evenly into Ninja Creami cups.
- Leave about ½ inch of space at the top for expansion.
- Seal the cups with the provided lids.
- Place the cups level in the freezer.
- Freeze for a full 24 hours until completely solid.
- Remove one frozen cup from the freezer.
- Run the outside of the cup under warm water for about 30 seconds.
- Insert the frozen cup into the Ninja Creami machine.
- Select the Sorbet setting.
- Allow the machine to process until the sorbet becomes smooth and creamy.
- Serve immediately for the softest texture.
- Freeze for up to 1 hour before serving if you prefer a firmer consistency.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
Notes
Use ripe, fragrant mangoes for the best natural sweetness and flavor. Strain the puree before freezing for a smoother sorbet texture. Freeze the mixture for the full 24 hours and process immediately after removing from the freezer for the creamiest result.
