Ingredients
- 1 block full-fat cream cheese (softened)
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade, slightly warmed)
- 1 cup chopped apples (Granny Smith & Honeycrisp recommended)
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional, toasted)
- Dash of ground cinnamon or nutmeg (optional)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, to prevent browning apples)
Instructions
- Soften the cream cheese at room temperature (20–30 minutes) or microwave for 8 seconds.
- Spread softened cream cheese onto a serving plate or dish in an even layer.
- Warm caramel sauce slightly and drizzle generously over the cream cheese.
- Chop apples into small cubes and toss with lemon juice if prepping ahead.
- Scatter chopped apples evenly over the caramel layer.
- Sprinkle toasted pecans, walnuts, or granola on top for crunch (optional).
- Dust lightly with ground cinnamon or nutmeg for extra fall flavor.
- Serve immediately with apple slices, graham crackers, cinnamon pita chips, or store covered in the fridge until ready.
Notes
For best results, serve immediately or prepare apples just before serving to avoid browning. Great served on toast, bagels, or as part of a charcuterie board. Try variations with mascarpone, salted caramel, or different fruits for fun twists.
