Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can pineapple chunks, drained well
- 1 can mandarin orange segments, drained well
- Whipped cream (aerosol, homemade, Cool Whip, or vanilla yogurt)
- Optional: Candy corn pieces for garnish
- Optional: Shredded coconut for texture
- Optional: Vanilla pudding for a thicker dessert feel
- Optional (for adults): Orange vodka or coconut rum (30–60 min soak)
Instructions
- Drain pineapple chunks and mandarin orange segments thoroughly. Pat dry with paper towels if needed.
- In a clear glass or plastic cup, layer pineapple chunks to fill the bottom third.
- Next, add mandarin orange segments to fill the middle third of the cup.
- Top with a generous amount of whipped cream, vanilla yogurt, or Cool Whip to mimic the white layer of candy corn.
- Optionally, sprinkle shredded coconut or a spoonful of vanilla pudding between fruit and cream layers for extra texture and flavor.
- Garnish with candy corn pieces on top if desired.
- Chill for 20–30 minutes before serving. If prepping ahead, wait to add the whipped cream until right before serving.
Notes
Use clear cups to showcase the colorful layers. For an adult twist, soak the fruit in orange vodka or coconut rum before layering. Avoid using fruit cocktail mix to maintain the classic candy corn color scheme.
